NAC is awarded the Altech Netstar vehicle tracking contract

After a recent tender process, NAC has been re-awarded the Altech Netstar vehicle tracking contract for a 3 year period, for national coverage out of Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town, commencing on 1 November 2008.

“As the leaders in stolen vehicle recovery, we place huge importance on the rapid deployment of air response country-wide,” says Joel Stransky, Managing Director of Altech Netstar.  “NAC has the expertise and infrastructure to provide the national support we need, and as quality and service are the bedrocks of our business, we are delighted to be associated with a company with such similar values.”

With almost 40 aircraft on standby throughout the country, the Johannesburg contract will be serviced out of Grand Central Airport, Durban out of Virginia Airport and Cape Town out of Cape Town International Airport. The Cape Town operation will be supported by NAC Makana, a BEE joint venture between NAC and Makana Investments.

“We consider it a great honour to have been re-appointed by Altech Netstar. We fully subscribe to their quality value system and we look forward to assisting with the efficient recovery of stolen vehicles around South Africa,” say NAC CEO Martin Banner.

NAC has appointed additional helicopter pilots as well as ground support staff, tapping into resources from their Pilot Training School at Rand Airport and 43 Air School.
