NAC announces their appointment as exclusive agent for Nextant in Africa

National Airways Corporation (NAC) is delighted to announce their appointment as Nextant Aerospace exclusive agent for Africa.

Nextant has launched an aircraft modernization retrofit program to fill a market demand of a modern, medium range (2000 nautical mile) business jet aircraft priced under $4.0 million dollars.

The 400XT from Nextant Aerospace includes three major upgrades to the Beechjet 400A / Hawker 400XP.  These include upgrading the flight deck with a Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics suite (STC 10959SC), replacing the P&W JT15D engines with Williams FJ44-3AP Engines and aerodynamic enhancements including nacelles, pylons and an improved engine mounting configuration. The upgrades give the XT a very significant 50% increase in range to 2000nm (3,710km) with four passengers, a 30% boost in fuel efficiency and reduced operating costs from $3 per mile to $2.13.  These enhancements make for an exceptionally high value offering in a proven, highly capable airframe.

“In the current world of economic pressures a sensible and affordable alternative in the jet segment such as this intelligent compilation of features, cabin, performance and reliability as embodied in the 400 XT represents a compelling alternative with no current sector contender that comes close.” said NAC’s Executive Director Aircraft Sales, JP Fourie.

Nextant Aerospace, LLC (www.nextantaerospace.com) was formed in 2007 for the primary purpose of developing an aircraft modification program. In 2008 Nextant merged with Constant Aviation and began building its support network with facilities in Cleveland, Ohio and Birmingham, Alabama.  These combined resources provide the foundation to aggressively pursue the modification, modernization and support of corporate and private jet aircraft to fill certain market demands of the industry.

The company’s business plan includes a comprehensive modification program that has a broad market appeal to new aircraft buyers, existing aircraft owners and the military.

Over the past two years, Nextant has completed the preliminary engineering phase and due diligence required in order to minimize risk and ensure the success of the program. Nextant expects to certify the 400XT in the second quarter of 2011 and plans to deliver 11 aircraft this year with the first delivery slated to take place in July.

Commenting on the announcement, strategy director for Imperial Holdings, Tak Hiemstra, said: “NAC’s appointment as Nextant Aerospace exclusive agent for Africa is a clear indication of the company’s high standing and capability within the aviation industry. As the major shareholder, Imperial Holdings is fully supportive of NAC’s strategy and proud to be associated with this professional aviation company.”
